Opera Studies

The MSA’s opera study group aims to provide a forum for members and colleagues to share and discuss their work in the field, as well as to facilitate productive dialogue between scholars, practitioners and opera lovers. We also aim to provide a network to support mentoring for postgraduate students and early career researchers working on opera-related topics.

Projected activities include opera seminars for researchers and postgraduate students, as well as collaborating with Australian opera companies, large and small, in study days and activities associated with new productions of both historical and contemporary repertoire.
